Creating a Paper Copy of Your Final Report

After data entry is complete and your report has passed validation, you must print the final report. This report is the record of what you have submitted. Maintain this printed copy in your files at your facility. To print your report, go to "File" and scroll to down to "Create Submission". A box will appear, select the button for the "Current Record" and then press "Start Submission Validation". You will need to pass the validation before printing the paper report. When validation has been PASSED, press the "Create Complete Paper Report" button, and then "Print Report" button.

If you have any problems with the validation procedure, please call the SERC.

Creating an Electronic .ZIP File or .T2S File

After printing a paper report, go to "File" and scroll down to "Create Submission". A box will appear, select the button for the "Current Record" and then press "Start Submission Validation". You must pass the validation in order to create the electronic file. If validation FAILED, you will need to go back and make the appropriate corrections. When the validation has been PASSED, press the "Create Electronic File" button. A "Save As" box will appear where you will be able to name your .ZIP or .T2S file and decide where to save your .ZIP or .T2S file. Save your .ZIP or .T2S file where you will be able to find it when needed. Follow these guidelines when naming the .ZIP or .T2S file that the software has created for you:

  • If your facility is a single operation in Georgia (i.e. Augusta WTP), name your file "Augusta-WTP"
  • If you have multiple operating facilities in Georgia (i.e. Tyson in Dawson, Tyson in Vienna etc.) name your file "Tyson-Dawson" and "Tyson-Vienna"

If you have any problems with the validation procedure, please call the SERC.

Submitting Reports to the SERC

Option One:

Address an e-mail to GAtier2@yahoo.com. Type the name of your facility in the subject line of the e-mail. Then attach your .ZIP or .T2S file to the e-mail. If you are responsible for multiple facilities, you may attach multiple .ZIP or .T2S files to a single e-mail.

The SERC will send an automatic bounce-back e-mail to your e-mail address notifying you of receipt. You must print and save this certification statement, keep it with the paper copy of your report, and maintain both at your facility.

Option Two:
Follow the instructions above for creating an electronic .ZIP or .T2S file and save the .ZIP or .T2S file to a diskette or CD. Mail the diskette or CD to the SERC by certified mail, return receipt for your records.

For those that do NOT have computer and/or internet access, and will be submitting via regular mail, call the SERC at (404) 656-6905 for the mailing address.

Submitting Reports to the LEPC

If your facility is NOT located in a listed LEPC county, then you do not have to send to a LEPC. The SERC will act as the LEPC.

Submitting Reports to the Fire Department Servicing Your Facility

If your facility is located in a listed Fire Department E-mail Reporting County, you are required to submit an electronic copy of your file to them via e-mail, or you may also send a diskette or CD with your .ZIP or .T2S file on it (if you are having trouble e-mailing your .ZIP or .T2S file attachment.

If your facility is NOT located in a listed Fire Department E-mail Reporting County, mail either a paper copy of your report or a diskette or CD containing your .ZIP or .T2S file to the fire department that serves your facility. If mailed, it is suggested you send your report via certified mail with a return receipt. If you decide to hand-deliver your report, make sure to ask for proof of receipt by the Fire Department saying that they have received your report.

General Reporting and Compliance Information

Things NOT to do when reporting:

  • Do not add a message to your e-mail submitted report. Leave the message box empty.
  • Do not wait until March 1, 2008 to report. Please complete and submit your reports as soon as practical after January 1, 2008.
  • Do not submit corrected or revised reports without calling the receiving agency first. The software might delete the wrong file.
  • Do not delete the electronic .ZIP or .T2S file or the software from your computer.

Things TO DO when reporting:

  • Before you submit your report, remember to print a paper copy for your own records.
  • If you submit your report via e-mail, a return e-mail acknowledgement of receipt will arrive electronically in your mailbox. Print and sign the acknowledgement (it is your certification statement and your proof of submission). Keep this certification with your paper copy of the report.
  • If you do not receive an acknowledgement of receipt, then the agency DID NOT RECIEVE IT.
  • Note: For those without a computer submitting paper copies via regular mail, remember to send all mail certified so you will get a receipt.

Importing Data From Last Year's .ZIP or .T2S File

If you maintained a copy of last year's .ZIP or .T2S file from Tier2 Submit 2006, all facility information can be directly imported into the new 2007 version of Tier2 Submit. See Appendix A in the Facility Submission Guide for instructions.
