Georgia SERC Notification of new EHS onsite (Section 302.4(c))

Tier 2 Main Page

Any facility that introduces any of the listed EHS chemicals on site at or above threshold quantity (as specified in EPA's List of Lists) must notify the SERC and LEPC within 60 days after they first receive a shipment or produce the substance on site.

To submit to the SERC, you will need to file a Tier2 report for the chemical(s) and submit the report electronically. Please refer to Section 312 Reporting Requirements for any help with submitting electronically to the SERC.

Very Important!  You will need to re-submit your most recent Tier2 Report, including the new chemical(s). Put a note in the “Notes” section (tab) of the Facility information in your Tier2 report indicating the submission is for “Section 302 Notification of NEW EHS CHEMICAL(s) ONSITE.”

Contact the SERC at 404-656-6905 BEFORE you send the report. We will then send you a return e-mail certification verifying receipt of your report.  If you do not get this receipt, you will NOT be in compliance!

Note: There is also a requirement to notify your county LEPC. Refer to the List of Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) Reporting Counties and send a notification to the mailing address listed for your county LEPC. If you are not in one of the listed LEPC counties, one SERC notification is all that is required.
